For what?

Great midsummer ritual / fotoshoot.


Where?

Near Copenhagen.


When?

 21. Juni 12:00 (Midsummer)


What is happening?

Like so many sources show (Adam from Bremen, Thietmar of Merseburg, Picture stones, tapestrys) the vikings had some kind of sacrifical ritual, that included suspending people in trees.
That s what we want to do. In cooperation with bodyextremes.com and h2fotografie.blogspot.com nine volunteers will get pierced and hanged during a midsummer ritual.

What do we need you for?

We need you as the crowd of warriors and people participating, watching and cheering up the"victims" and as perfect background for an event, that didn't take place around 1000 years!
Off course in the dress of the vikings.

What do you gain from it?

There will be a tombola for all participants, where you can win some tattoo time with Kai and other attractive things.
There will be free mead and a nice gathering afterwards.
Musicians welcome!
There will be unfortunately no fonds for accomodation etc.

The bear, depictet in a celtic style from the La Tène period, it's a good friend to have as spirit animal ;)

The goddess of the underworld, although all malicous souls end down in her empire, she is untouched by all infamy and is described in the sagas as a very beautiful girl, wich is blue/black on one side.
We´re not getting any tattoo ideas from the ancient times here ;)

SATANAS

The design is inspired by Aleister Crowley and Lady Frieda Harris Tarot Set, called Thoth tarot, wich was produced between 1938 and 1943, but published first in 1969.
The main inspirational card was the devil and we added a background based on Penrose tile patterns.

“Hear me, Lord of the Stars, For thee have I worshipped ever With stains and sorrows and scars, With joyful, joyful Endeavour. Hear me, O lilywhite goat Crisp as a thicket of thorns, With a collar of gold for thy throat, A scarlet bow for thy horns.”

Freija

Freija, the norse goddess of love and off course Odhinn´s wife :) She wears the most beautiful jewelry ever made, the Brisingamen, there are rumours, that she had to do some favours for a couple of nasty dwarfes, who created the piece...
Dwarfes need love, too ;)
There´s an ongoing discussion among the pagan clerics if Odhinn´s wife and the sister of Frey (the god of fertility) is the same person...

Stäbe und Sterne

 A rune star, inspired by Vegvisir and others. The tattoo has a magical background and the bearer wishes to be influenced by the power of the carefully chosen runes, matching her personality and development.

 An icelandic classic: The Vegvisir can be found in the galdrabok from the 17th century and in older manuscripts, there it is decribed as a magical symbol amongst 143 others.
The book contains complex runewritings and symbols.

  Ægishjálmur, can be found in the same book, both designs are also deeply rooted in icelandic and scandinavian culture.
I personally think, runic inscriptions should be kept simple and bold, gives them a nice, very classic appearance :)

The eagle and the raven, both connected to the highest god in the northern universe, Odin.
His shape-shifting abilitys help him to escape as an eagle from the giant Suttungs hall and his two ravens are legendary ;)

The wolf

The wolf, a great spirit animal of the North American tribes, a very popular and timeless tattoo design. Th e technique with only using stipes and dots can be found on bone carvings from the "wild west" and was used to decorate knife handles etc. with sometimes very complex pictures.

Shri Haidakhan Babaji

Shri Haidakhan Babaji is a great spiritual teacher who was living in Haidakhan, India, from 1970 to 1984.
